"Oklahoma Spirit"
The Oklahoma Spirit project was created by Tripoli Tulsa to honor the 100th anniversary of Oklahoma Statehood in 2007. The rocket is an upscale "Armageddon" clone, 8-inches in diameter, standing 12-1/2 feet tall and weighing 72 pounds in flight trim. It will fly at LDRS 27 on an Aerotech M2400 Blue Thunder motor and is expected to reach an altitude of approximately 1 mile. The rocket is equipped with dual Adept ALTS25 altimeters for deployment of the 6-foot drogue at apogee and 16-foot SkyAngle XL main parachute at 1200 feet. Tracking is accomplished by a Walston transmitter in the nose cone.
The Spirit made it's inaugural flight at Pawhuska, OK, on October 21, 2007 and is currently on display at the Tulsa Air & Space Museum. For additional information and construction photos, visit the Tripoli Tulsa website at: http://www.tulsarocketry.org/Armageddon.htm
