LDRS - Large and Dangerous Rocket Ships.

All that is High Power Rocketry will converge for Tripoli Rocketry Association’s 27th national launch at the KLOUDBusters Rocket Pasture near Argonia, KS August 28, 2008 through September 2, 2008 to celebrate the biggest and baddest of the Fastest Hobby on Earth.

The annual gathering of High Power Rocketry will take place at Argonia for the 5th time in its history and the 2008 version should prove to be the best ever. Above the wide-open Kansas prairie the FAA waiver to 50,000’ AGL will provide the wide-open skies rocket flyers crave.

Who will fly the highest or the fastest? Which rocket will be the loudest or the most “spectacular”? Join us for LDRS 27 and find out for yourself – you don’t want to miss this one.

LDRS 27 will be the fifth time KLOUDBusters has hosted LDRS at Argonia. This year we are inviting our rocket friends to the Argonia Rocket Pasture over Labor Day weekend, which is "prime-time" for rocketry and the same weekend we have held our annual AIRFest event for the past 14 years. We think everyone will enjoy the generally pleasant temperatures and pristine field conditions after the wheat crop is harvested and the fields plowed. The fact is, in late-August / early-September there just aren't very many places for rockets to hide. Those who have joined us for AIRFest in the past know that Argonia is the place to be for the final summer blast.

Throughout the years at the Argonia Rocket Pasture there have been some truly memorable launches. Argonia has been the site for the initiation of some nationally-recognized projects. Just last year the 1/3 Scale Mercury Redstone had a beautiful maiden flight on its ‘P’ impulse class powerplant. In 2005, the Delta III took flight on its huge array of red and blue plumes for the first time; equally exciting that same year were Anarchy X and the Wildman Rocket - two more successful 'P' impulse flights. LDRS 22 in ’02 featured a vast array of awesome engineering and unique projects which came to Argonia to participate in the inaugural Discovery Channel Rocket Challenge television extravaganza. Who can forget Aurora (her first flight was at Argonia), Our Stinkin' Rocket (the cluster 'M' powered outhouse), The Beast and The Cow (cowa-boom-ga, dudes!). Going back even further, how about the V-2 ('99), the 4 'M' Aires ('99), full-scale Aerobee ('93), full-scale Patriot ('93), the Honest John ...

LDRS 27 offers the chance to join this list of distinguished rockets of fame (or infamy), and witness it all one more time at the Argonia Rocket Pasture.
